The Steam Powered Preservation Society is a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Thus, SPPS is eligible to receive tax-deductible donations. The IRS's determination letter is effective retroactively to SPPS's date of incorporation, December 10, 2003.
WE NEED YOUR DONATIONS NOW MORE THAN EVER! We experienced fantastic support while we gathered funds to purchase the tapes; but since then, support has waned dramatically. We have studio quality tapes that we would like to have professionally mastered, but we are a long way off from that reality! One generous individual with $2400 could pay for an entire years worth of bandwidth for this server! If we had the funds, we could purchase the equipment needed to make tape processing a more efficient, faster process and tapes would come out much quicker!
Donations
We thank you for your donations, which will be handled by paypal and the good old fashioned postal service. Donations go to help pay our monthly service fee on the server, domain names, maintenance, media, postage to get tapes to trackers and back, etc. We have NO PAID STAFF. We encourage anyone wishing to make a sizeable donation to send a check so we can avoid paypal fees. Checks should be made out to Steam Powered Preservation Society OR SPPS.
