"Preserving those moments when music is made spontaneously and naturally. Presenting the live show and the art of performance. Without these recordings and without the commitment and love of the art of archiving a portion of our musical history would only exist in the moment it was made. Thanks to SPPS for keeping those very special moments alive."

--Jeff & Vida February 2007

One of the most well-known roots bands out of New Orleans, Jeff & Vida started way back in 1998. By 2000 they had recorded their first record and hit the road full time. Since then they've recorded two more albums and traveled thousands of miles. After appearances at last year's SXSW, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Wakarusa and Festival International, they were awarded the prestigious "Big Easy Award" for best Country/Folk artist in New Orleans. Performing an inspired blend of rockabilly, bluegrass and folk, PhotoTwang hails them, "Last week, I had a choice between Wayne "The Train" Hancock and Jeff & Vida. I chose well, in picking J&V. They so impressed me that night that, when they returned five days later, it was a no-brainer to be sure to catch them again (even though Fred Eaglesmith was performing a block away)." Drawing their sounds from deep raw southern blues to Appalachian back porch tunes Jeff & Vida have been praised for their undeniable stage presence and their original songs. "I've been fortunate enough to catch Jeff & Vida a couple of times in Dallas. The first time I saw them I was amazed. The second time I had fun watching everyone else be amazed ... they not only 'fit in the Americana category' but I believe they define its roots." -Rockzilla World.

Bruce is highly sought-after as a fiddle and banjo teacher, and teaches his own intensive instrument workshop all over the U.S. He is a regular instructor at Mark O'Connor Fiddle Camp, Rocky Mountain Fiddle Camp, Alasdair Fraser's Valley of the Moon and Sierra Fiddle Camps, Swannanoa Gathering, and others.
