The Little Church In The Pines
Salina, Colorado

Little Church in the Pines Concert Series is proud to be a venue partner of the Steam Powered Preservation Society. As fans working to bring American roots music back to its roots, we appreciate the valuable educational and historic work being done by the SPPS. Especially important to our own mission, the SPPS provides beginner musicians with a vast array of material from which to study instrumentation, learn songs and connect with the history of the genre. This grassroots organization recognizes that music is an important element in community cohesion, and we are pleased that our small venue can play a part in its efforts.

Little Church in the Pines Concert Series is a semi-monthly event held in the old church in Salina, Colorado, about nine miles from Boulder. Built in 1908, Little Church in the Pines is listed as on the National Registry under mining and tourism resources for Boulder County. The wood frame church is part of a small cluster of buildings remaining from Salina's late 19th and early 20th century mining boom. The front worship room has wood-lined walls and ceiling, which make for excellent acoustics. The non-profit, family-friendly concert series is community-run by local volunteers who are committed to bringing quality live music to this truly unique venue.

Past performers at Little Church in the Pines include Bruce Molsky, Boulder Acoustic Society, The Stairwell Sisters and Mollie O’Brien. All shows are unamplified and seating is general admission with great views from every pew. We reserve the front row for children under 12 and we host a dessert pot luck in the back room during setbreaks.

To get to Little Church in the Pines, take Canyon Blvd/CO Hwy 119-S to Boulder Canyon. Turn right on Four Mile Canyon Road. Stay on the main road, taking a slight right onto Gold Run Road at Salina Junction. The Church is on the right hand side in downtown Salina. There is limited parking, so please carpool if possible.
